Here's some free advice:

If you're a user with zero feedback and you're trying to sell something here, you might want to actually check your PMs and try to respond within, oh, a couple of days or so ... especially when you've contacted a potential buyer and agreed to that person's previous offer.

Not naming names, but this sort of behavior does not engender a lot of confidence for this deal or potential ones down the road. If you've changed your mind and want to see what you can fetch on eBay (where I now see it listed) or whatever, fine. It's not like I sent the money (though I did ask for the PayPal address). But you might want to close your thread here.

It is inside information regarding how a person will be to work with should issues arise. I consider it a plus since it allows me to step out of a deal and reduce my risks. This goes for people with lots of feedback as well. (I haven't had issues here, but if a person on eBay will not answer a question in a day, I know I don't want to do business with them.)

If a deal was agreed on and they did this, IMO, that's opens up the thought of leaving neutral feedback. Depending on the exact circumstance of course.
Well, that's not exactly what went down. I had sent a PM to the seller with an offer. He offered to meet me halfway between my offer and his listed price. I said I'd think about it and about a week later he said if I still wanted it, he'd sell for what I offered. I PM'd back with a couple of additional questions and said I was pretty likely to jump on it so he might as well send his PayPal info. That was the last transmission.

So the deal was never really sealed, but it's still pretty sketchy behavior, IMO. I'm pretty sure the bass is still listed for sale, but good luck reaching the seller.

Something along those lines happened to me on eBay, but later in the process. I purchased the item (a pedal) and heard nothing from the seller for two weeks. I sent him a few emails and was just about ready to file a claim with eBay when a message showed up. The guy explained that he was in a car wreck, was recovering, and never got around to looking at his computer until then. Was it a real situation or a just good excuse? I don't know. The item shipped the next day or so and I ended up getting what I wanted in great shape. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this would be a deal breaker before any transaction took place, but once money has "changed hands" the situation changes. :meh:
