Any experience with both these sets? Both are nickel plated. Both are round wound. However... LaBellas are half the price of the DR's.
I've got NYXL's on my Fender Jazz 5 string but not thrilled. I've got Sunbeams on my Squier 4 string Jazz (with Aguilar noiseless pups) and digging the sound. But the Jazz 5 still has the stock single coil MIM pickups so not as smooth sounding as my other basses.
Also... My Yamaha TRBX605 will be part of a secondary experiment, and will get whichever set comes off of the Fender first, which is why I'm debating which I should try first. I've got LaBella Stainless on the TRBX now. Good, but I think I prefer NYXL's at the moment which might be part of a swap from the Fender in the first round.
Sorry if I've confused anyone. Any experience or thoughts?
Edit: As I further contemplate which strings go where I found the following video differentiating between the LaBella SS and Nickel roundwound. Perhaps this will help in the discussion as my TRBX currently has the LaBella SS's.
