I'm looking for input from the folks who've tried both LaBella's Nickel Plated Series Rounds, and DR Nickel Lo-Riders. In particular, I'd like to know about differences in tone, string tension, and lifespan.
I'm looking for Nickel roundwounds that have a longer lifespan than D'Addario XL's, which is the brand that I'm most accustomed to. I especially like their tension.
The more midrangey the tone, the better for me. So, if either brand sounds mid-scooped, please let me know. I also like a higher string tension for my plucking hand.
I currently have a set of Fodera Nickel roundwounds on my bass, IMO they're a great string, but their round cores still feel weird for my fretting hand.
Thanks in advance.
