Hello,
I am in a quandry with my endpin. Set at the first notch, it allows me to properly reach the midpoint between bridge and fingerboard. Bowing (french) is fine here. It's a bit uncomfortable with my left shoulder and it seems like I'm reaching too high to play in the lower register.
So... I set the pin to be completely inside the body and it's awkward (leaning forward a lot to reach the right place on the string for the bow).
I've tried many slight angle changes and just can't find a truly comfortable place. I'm about 5' 5" and therefore don't have the longest limbs. Should I alter the endpin to try and find a happy medium? Is a 3/4 just too big for me? Should I just stretch more? Different bow?
I would be grateful for any advice you might have. Take care.
