Larry Graham on Betty Davis' self titled album

Her work is built less on vocal chops than attitude, but her attitude is massive—nasty, funky, unimpeachable. Errico and Graham just kill together on this album, too.

Mainstream music at the time maybe wasn't ready to embrace a female artist coming on this direct and strong, but damn! I always thought a handful of her songs should be early 70s iconic classics, on a level with Stevie Wonder and Rufus.
