Recently decided to pick up the NB6FP for modification. Right out the box it plays stunning.
Feel, tone, stability, build quality; so far so good.
I can't wait to hear what it sounds like after all the upgrades. I'll be posting pics and vids as I go along, as well as any recordings done on the bass, or any future Legator purchases (I have a feeling there will be more).

So… it looks sweet, but what about the sound? How’s it holding up? Do u recommend it vs other multiscale basses u’ve played/owned?

6 month later feedback. I've had the 5 string version with the fishman setup since it came out and it's by far the best bass I've ever played. The feel is great and the sound is amazing. I get a ton of compliments from different people I jam with. It did have some scratches and a ding brand new but legator customer service was great and willing to send another even.

The reason I like it so much is the combination of the neck feel and how the fishman pickups sound with the extended range. That's on par with other brands. The general construction and attention to detail is not in comparison to a dingwall. But also dingwalls are a grand more for their cheaper end. The main reason I got this instead of a dingwall was because it had the fishman setup and don't regret it.

So over 1 year later. (Scroll to bottom of post for glow shots and a couple bonus pics!)
Upgrades so far:

  • Nut filed for E0 (Drop E) tuning.
  • Defretted and filled w/ glowing lines.
  • Darkglass Tone Capsule added.
Notes on integrity:
- Pros:
  • Plays well right out of the box.
  • Came w/ everything to set it upaand make adjustments.
  • Tuning is stable even at E0.
  • Neck stays nice and rigid, almost never have to adjust it.
  • Intonation is great, and bridge is super precise.
  • Handled a .176 string w/out any modification needed.
  • Stock Luminlay inlays were cool.
  • Sounds dank w/ a tone capsule in it.
  • Looks dank w/ glow in the dark lines.
- Cons:
  • Needs shielding right off the bat.
  • Pots could be better but are still a good quality.
  • Could use a better jack and install on the stock pre amp.(I didn't care much since I was upgrading it anyway.)
  • Pups were wired funny so I have to wire pre amp funny unless I fix the pups.
  • Swamp ash is nice, but I'm definitely wearing through the finish and wood a bit where my fingers tend to hit leading me to believe the finish is a bit thin anyway.
  • Legator logos rubbing off a bit on pups.
  • One of the neck bolts was only halfway screwed in when I got it.
Overall, it's my favorite bass I've ever owned so far. I didn't really take any close-ups of blemishes because I didn't think they were too big a deal. If anyone requests though I can take some close ups for TB. :snaphappy:

Dont see much activity but curious about the Legator Wraith W5RF. See few reviews of it. See many concerns posted about QC issues. However, it checks a lot of boxes - Dingwall scale, headless, and Fluence bass pickups.

Wonder about the pickup spacing. Bridge looks like 60s jazz but the neck looks much closer to bridge. Maybe it is similar spacing as the 2 pickup Dingwall ABZ. I played the newer Spector MS with these pups and was not a fan. Granted I am not a big Spector fan. Did play a Schecter with the pups in JB positions and it was awesome. Thanks in advance.

It's a voice selector for the fishman pickups.
Interesting, ive heard some came like that, mine came w/ Legator branded soapbars and an artec SE3 pre in it. Legator is so random I swear lol
Edit: I realize you have the NB5FP and not the NB6FP so that's probably why they're different, but I think I've seen the 6 w/ a switch and fishmans before as well, though I may be mistaken.
