The BP1525 looks like THE sealed cab driver but, it's a little dark on top. Of love to use a pair of these but greatly prefer a one way cab. If someone was to install an aluminum dust cap, would this noticeably extend the treble range? In currently using a pair, soon to be 3 Sealed Beta 15a's that I really like. Those are a little dark without a big treble boost but, then they rock! It would be nice if they handles a little more power but, really a pair is enough for most players and adding a 33rd is just to get them closer to ear level.

What woofer? An aluminum dust cap attached directly to the former will extend top end out an octave, from 2k to 4k. It will improve off axis. A larger cap attached to the Come would extend top end alone. The cap attached to the Cone increases mass but, I'm not sure how this effects tone. Placing a cap directly on the voicecoil and not on the Come may negatively affect some desirable properties but, that's beyond me.

I'd pay someone to buy a Bp2515, install an aluminum dust cap and sell it to me for a small profit, for sure.

Im sorry I cant remember the details. Might be able to find it in search.

I never even thought about adding one over the old. It seems the only thing that would take much skill would be removing the old.

@pie_man_25 check simplyspeakers.com for video if you are interested in diy'n it some day.

I'm trying to find a shop to send me new ones with aluminum dust covers. I'll keep you guys posted. That should bring the bp1525 response out to about 4k. Basically like the beta with way more power handling.

Alright, I got someone to do this for me and maybe I'll have them late next week! I don't expect them to be Any brighter than the beta 15a bit, for the upgrade in performance, I'll take it.

Deltalite 2512's. He said that they added a little bit of sparkle. The 5.5" dust cab on the BP1525 will be replaced by a 4" aluminum. This should extend the frequency range out to roughly 4khz. I don't know how much of a mass difference there will be or how it will effect the tone otherwise. It is a bit of a crap shoot but, I believe it to be worthwhile. Im liking the sealed betas with a treble boost so, these should be similar, but with greater power handling and output.

You open up a can of worms because you can't introduce high mid resonances that may not sound very good. Sometimes is works as expected but often it does not. Without doing the engineering and testing you won't know if you end up with a winner or loser.

I am aware of that. Hopefully it works out. If not, Id replace them with the heavy felt paper that comes stock. I'm hoping it brings up the upper range to something like the beta. Better yet, just add some top to the existing profile. I don't expect that though.

Currently I'm using my bag end s15d cabs with the ports plugged as test boxes because they are about the internal volume I wanted and they already have almost enough damping material. So, single. I like the betas alot, a very good feeling, growly driver with low mid punch, and, nice cut with treble turned up. I'm going to compare a beta next to the modified bp1525. When I finally do a build, I'll probably use 1.5cuft total per driver with heavy fiberglass damping to reduce the lowmid peak. Should give a nv610 like punch with good mids and dispersion. Maybe I'll end up installing an aluminum some on a beta if I end up wanting an even brighter tone. The goal was to have a 2x15 and an optional 1x15. 2x15 would share the internal volume but,be braced.
