Played first public gig this weekend with my new band. First gig since right before Covid hit. Prior to and including this weekend, my rig for the bigger gigs has been my V-4B with 212AV and man has that sonuva seacook gotten heavy! I know it’s no 810 SVT stack and mine is even the latest gen from 2017, but lugging it in and outta my basement, in and outta vehicles has become a TASK. I was starting to think about getting a RB-210 combo for the majority of our gigs but after having to crank the gain this weekend to be heard I’m seriously considering selling and going the Mesa route with either a Subway D-800+ or a WD-800 with a Subway 400 watt 115 cab. Anyone else made this move and is loving it? Had no regrets?

Yup. Bought a WD-800 and have not looked back. Later, I bought a pair of Subway 115s, thinking I'd use only one a good bit of the time. But I wound up using both 115s very nearly all the time, except for the very obvious small gigs where one cab is sufficient. I just like the tone of both 115s and it sounds great when turned down. Again, never looked back.

I later sold my SVT 810 rig. For more reasons than the Mesa Subway rig covering everything I do. It sounds awesome, but at 61 (my age when I sold it 3 years ago), I could barely move it. The 35-year-old player I sold it to is still using it very nicely.

EDIT: As much as I love, love, love my Mesa rig, you might want to try an SVT-7 Pro amplifier with your current speaker cab. I had one and it sounds pretty much like an Ampeg. Big and juicy....:D

I bought TT800 thinking it might get me close to SVT country but it did not.
OTOH, I didn't like my old 7 Pro either and many guys think they are close to an SVT.

The first time I picked up the SW115 I laughed, it feels that light. Get one! Home test of the SW115 was surprisingly nice and hifi sounding. Just turned 60 and thinking ahead... I am awaiting delivery of a SW210, and looking forward to testing with the band when it arrives, so cannot say yet just how much volume to expect. They need to compare to what I am getting out of two 18's and two 15's with about 100 watts being delivered to each cone by two different eq'd amps and thinking it likely that another SW115 or two will be necessary. Putting money into the speakers and need to biamp, so running for now with this 32lb total weight two channel rack system I pieced together from my pa rack for now, it really clouts the air:

The other thing I’m thinking about it going from my Peg to a Aguilar TH-500 and 210 cab. Anyone else done that? Is that a good move? I do love the way those Agulars sound.
