Hi,
I would like to build a cab to pair it with my genz benz shuttle 6.2 12T. The Genz Benz cab is great, but I need more power and low freqs when I gig outdoors.

I am thinking about a Fearful 15 sub, because the speaker (eminence kappalite 3015LF) sensitivity is 98,4dB and the shuttle2 12T sensitivity is 99dB. Is the sensivity of the speaker the same when putting it in a cab?

My little arms need the cab to be under 33lbs, is it possible? What woods should I use?

I am thinking about not installing a crossover, is that right?

Thank you!

My personal preference would be to track down a second 12T. Having two identical speakers will ensure the speakers work well together and there is maximum coupling between them.

No guarantees the 15 Sub and 12T will work well together...they might or they might not. If the cabs work well together you would not require a crossover...if they don't work well together, a crossover may be helpful, but you will not gain any volume. Remember the 15 Sub's efficiency is 98.4dB versus the 12T's 99dB. For best results a crossover needs to be custom designed to work with the drivers...so don't expect perfection.

Another option would be to pickup a used 212 cab that you like. Then you have choices...use the 12T when you need a small rig and bring out the big gun when you need it.
Here's an example. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Genz-Benz/GB212T-UB-Uber-Bass-600W-2x12-Bass-Cabinet-114873831.gc

• Don't be intimidated. Cabinet building is dead easy and very rewarding.
Type of wood: Luan mahogony, 3/4"
X-over not needed or desirable
Kappalite 15 is a good choice, Deltalite probably just as good
Deltalite 15 - 99.2 dB
Kappalite 15 - 100.8 dB
I am currently building a pair of 15" cabs out of 1/2" luan. With a few braces they will be just as good acoustically, and feather light. Easily under 30 lbs.
Forget the "fEARful" design, and their outrageous cost.
IMG_0909.JPG This is one of the 2 cabs I use in my rig.
About 2' square and 16" deep. Can send complete plans if you like, no charge.
I dressed them up in black carpet and vintage VOX grille cloth.
With Eminence Big Ben 15's they sound amazing.
• The 15" combined with the 12" will give you the extra depth and body you are looking for, that the 1 12" alone just can't give.
((I also build custom cabs if you are interested. ))

There is a handycap: I live in Spain. Here it is not posible to get another GB 12T. And the 212 new or used are around 45 lbs. I cannot even enter the guitarcenter link...

BFM Simplexx 15 Simplexx

www.Speakerhardware.com has flat packs.

The cab kit is very pricey including the custom fees in Spain...

Thanks for offering the plans but Eminence Big Ben is 220w and the GB Shuttle gives 375@8ohm/600@4ohm.

Thank you all again!
