Lightweight tuners for Mustang Pawn Shop bass?

Hi all,

I have a Mustang short scale bass that, because of it's shorter proportions, is a little headstock-heavy. I'm looking into lightening the headstock with lightweight tuners -- Gotoh Reso-Lites, or Hipshot Ultralights.

Anyone have experience with either? Will they make a significant difference?

And any idea of fit/compatibility with the Mustang tuner ream?

Ultralites are less expensive, and a very high quality part. But they will not fit the stock screw pattern.

Resolites are slightly lighter, and will probably be available in the stock screw pattern, but they are a bit more expensive.

Hipshot Lic Ultralites, the least expensive of the bunch, but slightly heavier than the other two.

All three of these should help your neck dive issue.
