Another voice of welcome for Lonnie Plaxico, from the Bass Guitar side. I enjoyed Lonnie's work with Jack D. in the '80's (caught that group live once or twice), as well as his recent work with Cassandra Wilson. And I'm really enjoying the "Melange" CD.

Umm, not to bruced your bubble, but I don't think that was exactly "KUNG FUQUA" material there...I've seen worse.

OK - maybe you could just say he had an "Ed's up" ?

Actually I think it would have been great if this debate had been continued (in a civil manner of course) and we had had both sides of the argument explained more fully. That is, if there is an argument that listening to the "greats" helps you construct good lines more than say, harmonic analysis?

I usually agree with everything that Ed says, so it would be interesting to hear another viewpoint from a different angle.
