Lonnie Vencent (Bulletboys)

Does anyone know why he's NEVER mentioned among hard rock bassists? What kind of gear did he use? Was he primarily a pick or finger player? His playing on "For The Love Of Money" (O'Jays cover), "Smooth Up In You", "Hang On St. Christiopher" (Tom Waits cover), & "Freakshow", are enough to warrant mention. His style was simple & tasty, but he could groove his ass off(actually, the whole band could groove)! Would love to hear from other fans, people who were/are in his orbit, & even the man himself!

The one song was a remake of a very popular hit. The bass line was pretty much the same as the O’Jays.

Wait, are you him?
LOL! NO...I am NOT him! I have a few Bulletboys songs on my playlist, & I love the rhythm section of Lonnie & Jimmy D'Anda. The song "Freakshow" has some NICE walking lines that I didn't pay attention to 30 years ago when I was a knucklehead drummer. Been playing bass for the last 7-8 years, & it made me revisit songs I loved as a drummer to analyze the bass parts in them. He was underrated for that period. By the way, "For The Love of Money" is not as easy as it sounds. The note selection may not be hard, but to make it groove, is. ESPECIALLY, in a hard rock setting. He nailed it on that song.
