Looking for: light, very smooth, even tension, medium bright, shortscale strings

At the moment playing on GHS 7700 compression wounds on Cort Action JR 30".

About GHS pressure wounds:
Great fat sound with enough highs for slapping.
Awesome smooth and inviting feel
Quite similar tension in E A D, but G is a bit too stiff.
A bit too variating in tone in D and especially G.

So wish to maintain the pluses and overcome the minuses.
Perhaps a 035" G would have solved the issue, but I don't think anyone is making them as pressurewounds.. and I suspect a 030" as a G would be too loose.

Advice?

Can I assume you're talking about the GHS Pressurewound 7700, 40-54-76-96?
I'm rather surprised you're finding the G too stiff. The 40-G in short scale has a tension of only 29.6 lbs., vs. 37.2 lbs. in long scale.
Unfortunately, your choices for what you're looking for are rather limited.

Interesting note: The tension difference I perceive from the GHS 7700 doesn't seem to correspond to their chart:
7701 (.040”) 29.6
7702 (.054”) 30.2
7703 (.076”) 36.2
7704 (.096”) 29.1

JR324:
1st G .042 30.42
2nd D .056 33.28
3rd A .069 28.10
4th E .093 28.95

Difficult to trust these charts now, but from these numbers it doesn't look like I'm heading towards a clear improvement with Thomastik..

Other options:
Roto RB35. Not much info about these.
They are 35 55 75 95, nickel windings over stainless roundwounds.
Perhaps the nickel will be smooth enough.
Very cheap set.

GHS Progressives:
35 55 75 95, Alloy 52 over stainless steel.
Probably not too different to the Pressurewounds.

Don't confuse "tension" (pulling weight on the neck) and "stiffness/flexibility".

The Pressurewound and the TI Jazz Rounds are two completely different animals due to the difference between the hex core (GHS) and the round core (TI). The actual playing feel between those two would be noticeably different due to the extra flexibility and suppleness of the TI, despite the similarity in the actual tension numbers.

The recommendation by @Jeff Scott is a very good one.

For the same absolute tension, a thinner string 'feels' tighter, which is why an even feel is obtained with a fall in tension from low to high, the opposite of many traditional sets.
You could build sets from singles, using standard 34" length strings for ADG for more choice, since ADG strings can be wrapped around a tuner post at full gauge.
