loop circuit causes volume drop... why?

hey all, here's a diy circuit i made so i can use a reverb as like a freeze. when activated, the switch cuts off input to the pedal but allows output to continue. I am a SUPER noob at this stuff, so if this is completely jank, let me know.

for some reason, when engaged, the pedal in the loop has a serious volume drop. when i disengage, the pedal returns to full volume. i can post a video to show what i mean. i also have included a diagram of my circuit.

thanks!

When you engage it, both the dry and wet signal paths are hard wired to the same output jack point, so they load each other down. To solve this, you will need a buffer circuit, a little active mini-mixer at the point those paths join.

Correct. But if you accept a constant 6dB loss and a bit higher output impedance, you could just put a 10k series resistor between return and output, and another one between the switch and output.
