Lost my bass #2 Used Bass guitar selection FINAL STRETCH. Down to TWO basses.

As you know I lost my bass. After much research, I decided that I am down to these 3 used guitars...
Many of you, good folks, suggested Peavey, and many mentioned Spector.
I found THREE basses that, at least on paper, look like what I would like to get. Both are just a tad under $300
1. Peavey Grind. Neck through, 24 Frets. Passive Humbuckers... you know... Da Works... I found two. One is wooden finish, natural. Peavey Passive Humbuckers.
2. Peavey Grind BXP. Black. Seems to be be VERY similar. Neck through Peavey Passive Humbuckers.
New one (natural finish but says it is BXP), cost 499 new at SAM ASH...
3. Spector Performer.. 24 Frets, Passive electronics. NOT Neck through, but has EMG SSD passive pickups (which, according to SAM ASH are better than usual EMG HZ passive pick ups). Costs 399 NEW in Sam Ash (I am getting used one).

Please, help me choose. between those two. They seem very similar... Thank you, all. Main concern is quality of wood and pickups...

I have a Grind BXP. It is definitely a decent bass - not award winning, but definitely worth "a tad under $300."

Theres a used TL-5 for $400 in the Classifieds. Next thru construction with a build hard to beat. 1st Gen with both passive and active controls.

Buy that one.
