Hello there,
I have a Sandberg Electra TT4 and I tried to replace the bridge pickup to an MEC one with golden metal cover (not gonna lie it just looks so great so I chose it...) and something really weird happened. After the installation it seemed that, with the vol-blend-2bandEQ set up of Electra, both pickups works properly when the blend is either 100% bridge or 100% neck, but when going for 50 50 the low frequency just disappears and the output is quite low. When I turn the bass EQ up then just little low boost could be heard. Maybe someone knows what's going on?
And I also had some other questions, would be kind if someone has experience with this
- The original Electra TT4's pickups (jazz style) has three outgoing wires, the ground one, a red one and a white one. Normally, I suppose that the red wire is for the 9V connection, but it is actually grounded in the original wiring. Contrarily, the newly bought MEC is somewhat "true active" with 3 wires and the red one should be connected to 9V. So what does the original Electra jazz pickup do?
- About the metal covered MEC stuffs: it seems that all those pickups has a small "bug" that when your finger hits the pickup strongly, the pickup will have a small "tta"-noise as if it has recorded your "hit" on the pickup. Is this maybe fixable?
