Luminlay side dots. An aid or distraction.

Hello all,

Pretty simple question and preferably only feedback from those with experience.

Are luminlay side dot more of a distraction then an aid? Do you end up going "Oh look at the pretty lights!" Vs just paying attention to sound and feel or are they quite a benefit.

Specifically on a fretless but fretted as well. The reason I add this is that I have found fretless requires a more intimate focus I think and found that when the mind wonders it's easier to lose yourself compared to fretted. Might be because I've been primarily a fretted player for my time.

They are great , they are not that bright and they die out in about 1 or 2 songs . IME you need side markers

Dunno but this looks like opposite of great to me

they are just markers that glow , they look "normal" when not glowing . Whats not to love ?

They work. Under stage lights, they glow just enough to be noticeable. The brighter stage lights "charge" them and when the lights are dim they glow enough to see. I broke the charging mini-flashlight thing the first week I got it and don't miss or need it. I love them and have them on 3 basses. One of them is fretless.
