Made this video about practicing for my students, I hope you find it helpful in some way!

Nice video. Well thought out. Personally I would have taken a few (not all) of the explanations that started about half way through and put them on the top, but that's not a big deal. (BTW, I really liked the parts where you seemed to turn into a cat, that must have taken a lot of practice).

I generally organize my practice routines this way:

1.) As you unpack the instrument (or maybe sometime before) make a specific goal that can be reached in one practice session.
2.) Something Old. Play anything that you are familiar with, maybe a reached goal from a previous practice.
3.) Something New. Work on your goal, but remember.... Baby Steps.
4.) Something Borrowed. Try something that a bass usually doesn't do. Cartoon theme song, or church hymn melody, whatever. experiment.
5.) Something Blue. Play something that you love. Something that make you fall in love with your instrument or music in general. Remind yourself of why you became a musician; why this is an important part of your life.

"You have the option to define yourself by how you react to your mistakes"
That's good.

I have to wonder how common it is to beat yourself up for mistakes during practice (or even gigs)?
I honestly never sweat my mistakes. I hear them, I learn from them,
but I have never slipped into harsh self judgement about it. Is it that common?
