Hi all, I acquired this Cirrus in recently and notice a bit of checking between the 16th and 20th frets. Bass plays great and the frets in the affected area seem level. I've not seen this kind of thing on a maple board before and it really doesn't bother me at all.....just wonder what might be going on down the road. Should I be concerned and if so, what might be the remedy?

Yes, very slightly. I would think that it has to be pretty deep to pass through the fret slots like that. I'm just hoping it's stable. I've had it a month so it's hard for me to say if it's getting worse. I've got a couple of good techs in the area. I might get one to give it a look, maybe seal it with some CA.......or leave as is if it's stable. I've seen a thread on there where overtightening the truss rod on a Cirrus caused the FB to crack open dead center between the 1st and 5th frets. The relief on this one is right where I like it so I haven't touched it.

Since it can be felt with a fingernail, it is thru the finish. There is the possibility of finger oils, etc getting into the wood which will cause discoloration if not sealed. Also, CA may lock both sides of the cracks together and help keep it from creeping further.
