Maple vs Rosewood Fingerboard...

I prefer to perform with a maple board because I can see the side dots easier. Otherwise it's mainly aesthetics, in my opinion. One is not going to notice any discernible difference at stage volume with drums and gui****s.
Some basses look better with rosewood, especially natural/blonde body and black pickguard.

I do hear a little difference though I believe he says these are 2 different basses with identical specs other than the neck so other variables are possible. If you played these basses 5 minutes apart there's no way I could tell a difference. Back and forth like this I can tell only when there are no backing tracks. Just a little accompaniment and the difference disappears for me.

i've had the same bass with two maple necks, with the 20 year old bi cut i had the darkest sounding bass tone i've ever had, while with the new quartersewn neck i got a snappy and bright piano type tone, i haven't put my rosewood neck on the bass to compare though, because i thought the variation in tone from the two maple necks was interesting enough to comment on
