Hi I have a dilemma of choosing the m2 or the p7 im leaning towards the later because of the versatility and the fact that its good for rock and metal (my prefered genres). But I want the m2 for the 24 frets and the beautiful look.
Is the m2 5 string good for rock and metal?

I have the M3 and it's great for rock/metal. Pretty sure the preamps are the same. I think it's just the finishes are different, maybe some woods.

I'm of the "any bass can do any style" camp, but yeah, either the M2 or P7 would work just fine for what you want. That preamp can get you pretty much anywhere tonally.

Another happy M3 owner here. I think the main difference is the fancier top veneer on the M3, maybe the bridges are different too, not sure, I haven't seen an M2 up close yet.
