My first stand alone cab aka mid-life crisis is this Marshall DBS staggered 4x12. With the Fender-in-Sunn-disguise on top, it is ridiculous overkill and I love it. The 12’s bring a really rich punch. I stuck a piece of black vinyl over the gold Marshall strips on the top/bottom of the grill, and the plastic Marshall logo is missing, but I like like the no-name look. I bought it out of a gentleman’s hobby room where it remained for several years free from the abuse of the road, probably because it weighs 160 lbs and has no towel bar.
I’m curious who else around here has DBS-series cabs in this and other configurations and what they think of them. There is scant information here or elsewhere beyond a copy/paste of Marshall brochure specs.
1. Anyone have the same 4x12? What head do you use with it?
2. Anyone else have the 2x15 DBS configuration?
3. Mine sound great, but for future reference, has anyone ever replaced the drivers, and if so what did you choose?
