Maruszczyk Frog

I am seriously gassing for one of these and was curious to know if anyone has any experience with these instruments.

Before I get chewed out, please note that I used the search function and turned up zero results, which was strange

Heard a demo of the bass and I was blown away. And it looks super cool, just about as long as a guitar, which would make it easy to carry around as well.

I doubt the "just about as long as a guitar" bit, they're full-scale instruments. But one of those blue headless fretless Frog Omega 5 strings in the blue burst with Delano xtenders is likely my next bass purchase.

You must have selected the wrong forum to search or added a filter on as searching for brings “maruszczyk“ brings up about 2500 results.

Not that it matters- new discussions are almost always fine.

I think even most of us who know about them still can't spell it correctly. I know I can't, I have to cut and paste it! :woot:

I've had two Frog's now. Just got my second one a couple weeks ago. Fantastic basses. They are not the size of a guitar. They are 34" scale regular size basses. They balance very well and have fantastic ergonomics. Great electronics options too. Here's my current Frog. Delano preamp, Bassculture pickups.

So you're the guy that bought this. I had been eyeing it myself, but didn't have the funds. I wondered how it sounded and felt. I love the looks of it.

I was actually looking at one of the Omega Frogs in blue. Here's a pic:

Weighs just 4kg. Perhaps a bit longer than a guitar, but will fit in a guitar bag, methinks.

May even go for the six-string version.
That's basically the bass I want to order!

I have the twin of scubaduba’s piece. I’m 62 and have and have had a lot of nice basses: it’s one of the best.
The Bass Cultures can sound a bit “thick” (or rich or harmonically dense) and they can be a challenge to set int the mix, sort of like a g & l 2500 or so. It’s such a gorgeous sound that I don’t want a drummers toms obliterating their tone signature. So, not the easiest to mix in, but I LOVE this bass,

Already own an Elwood Human Nature 4p multi scale and it's a light and pleasant instrument to play.

This is my latest order i'm waiting for eagerly. Frog 4a Custom, Delano pickups (split coil & humbucker), Delano 2way preamp:

Question for Frog owners
I wonder if someone here can give me some more info on a 4 string Frog neck. I have never played one, but it seems to check all the other boxes for me. 40MM. I love the new Fender Ultra necks (I understand it is compound radius), love my Pedulla Thunderbolt, love my Aerodyne, and am for the most part OK with my Allparts MIJ Jazz neck but I wouldn't call it a perfect fit for me. I like small, but with a little meat behind the first fret (Ibanez feels too small). All comments on this bass are appreciated!

The Frog is the best designed bass I've ever played. It's incredibly comfortable and ergonomically correct. Effortless to play. Every note is just right there, you don't even have to think about it. Great B string. Excellent sound too. I loved mine very much. Unfortunately it had a problem with the neck and had to go. I hate thinking about it because it was really my soul mate bass. Maruszczyks are not made as well as they could be. I think Adrian should get a different shop to build them. There's a tinge of cheapness to them that doesn't fit the price point imo.

Thanks for the honest opinion. Did the neck on yours have the graphite rods?
