@Peaveylover Started the Super 300 Owners Society thread, but I feel Master Effects deserves its own general thread. Living in NYC, I often have to play through some crappy house amp, whether at a rehearsal space or a gig. I finally approached @Sensei Tim at Master Effects to make a preamp pedal of the GK 800RB tone section into a small enclosure because of my tiny pedal board, and he nailed it. I had it called the 800EH because 800RB and it's made in Canada, eh? The same pedal is available as the Super 800.

Thanks BrooklynKen! I own a Super 300 and just took delivery of a Super 800. I am planning on getting the Super 200 and Monorail when I can raise the funds. ME pedals are amazing and Tim is a great guy. My Super 800 came with a busted knob and he sent me a whole pack of replacements. Great service!

Funny, Ken, you and I have virtually the same settings on the 800!

Nice! That's pretty much my standard on any GK amp. I didn't crank the boost too high because my Damnation MBD is always on.
I run my volume a little hotter to get some breakup but otherwise virtually same settings. I find the Hi Boost sounds great on it's own, but really messes with my Boss LM-2 limiter when engaged and makes the sound thinner. I don't think it's the 800's issue so much as the limiter just getting slammed with highs and not knowing what to do with that sonic information.

Yeah, settings always have to get reevaluated when adding more to the chain. Maybe that's part of the fun.

I'm pretty much in the same camp. TB always gives me GAS, It's basically between the Super 200 and the Crazy Tube Circuits Planet B Plus (based on an OR120) or if I ever come across a JohnK build that's giving me that itch for those Orange Matamp tones.
Funny you mention that. I have a Planet B Plus that I got used and it's the only dirt pedal besides my MBD that I kept for some reason. I really like it, but most of what I like from it I can also get from my MBD.

Not an owner, but an interested party... I will happily stroll into this new thread.

what's that at the top left.. the silver thing

That old thing? It's an old sewing machine footswitch that I modified to work as a single button footswitch to work with some of my amps for channel switching, or in this case it's used to turn on the compressor on my Orange 4 Stroke amp. I'm currently using my Marshall JCM800 Superbass amp, so I just leave that on there cosmetics and curiosity as it looks good on a dark stage

Tone city! I've tried Lightning Boy stuff, but it turned out the tube pedal thing wasn't what I was after. But Mike was so awesome to deal with.

That's the cool thing about pedals. We can all figure out what we like and don't like. There's no right or wrong, it's all just personal taste. If we don't like them, we can usually flip them for about the same amount of money.
