Hope you all are having a great Sunday. I’m posting because I recently took one of my instruments to a luthier and whatever he used to clean it with, left white residue spots. This bass has a unique rough matte finish and I wanted to ask you guys how to get these white cloudy patches off and what I should use to clean this rough matte finish from here on out. Thanks!

Try naphtha (lighter fluid,) I use it on my basses, guitars, clarinets, cases, speakers and amps. It removes all kinds of stains. I've also discovered for discolored things, you can restore the color with a sharpie, and then use a light swipe of the naphtha to remove that "sharpie gloss" and tackiness that I find very objectionable.
