...because it's "modified" not "new". SX-PJ62 defretted by my liuther. I changed the knobs and pickguard screws for a total black look. New strings on it, Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats.
 
Looks sharp.
I'm normally not a fan of mixing the colors of hardware, but the black knobs and screws really make the white edge of the guard pop.

Nicely done!

I think I probably would have just replaced the neck with a fretless one from a different brand, but that looks like it came out very nicely.
I thought about it, but this way was cheaper. It it my first fretless, just wanted to try out before buying another bass. I already own a P and a J and this SX-PJ was just a whim. I was just using it to practice when I'm out of home, it was a "backup"

The fretboard looks quite nice, and the guy looks like he did a very good job at removing the frets without pulling litte chips of the fretboard along with it.
