Mesa Boogie Grid Slammer with bass?

Hey gang

I've always been a big fan of tubescreamer type circuits for bass.
I know Darkglass stuff is all the rage, but I just love how TS-based pedals make the bass pop in a mix. That leads me to the Mesa Boogie Grid Slammer...
Anyone tried it on bass? Is is somewhat "low end friendly"?

The bassist in this video told me he used a mesa grid slammer for this show. Sounds pretty bad ass to me. I also started a thread about this a while ago. I'll link you to it
