Mesa Prodigy/Strategy-Speakons?

Why don't these amps have speakon connections? Super expensive, high quality, and no speakons..I don't get it. Am I missing something?

I believe the 1/4" jacks short when not plugged in thus protecting the output transformer from smoking should the amp be played without a load. Speakons do not offer a switching Normally Open or Normally Closed connection if unplugged.

Your welcome. Its never a good idea to play a tube amp without a speaker cab connected. Solid state amps you can use without a speaker.

You can pick up 1/4" to speakon adapters to use on the cab side. That's what I've been doing or buy a pre made cable with speakon on one side and 1/4" on the other.

I once was wrong about the connection Strategy to the enclosure (one cable into the Mesa, one in the box, but not the same...), played two or three tones with my MM Special HH 5 - two KT88 went to heaven. Fortunatly the output transformer was ok, new valves - it's a great amp again with huge power and perfect, versatile sound for me.
