I’ve had an older model b200 that I got used to have in my home office. It’s an okay amp. Nothing special, but not too shabby either. It can be tweaked for different tones and is really loud. It’s also really heavy.
That newer b100c is 37 lbs. Way heavier than the 22 pound Rumble 100. But when I’ve used one to try basses at GC, I’ve preferred its sound to the comparable Rumble. Overall, that’s a great price for a nice starter amp/practice amp so long as the weight isn’t an issue.
I bought the acoustic because the DI out can be controlled pre or post eq. Heavy compared to my Rumble. Lots of flexibility with effects. This is a good buy.
Got one of these, been waiting to use at the practice place to report on it. I was originally looking at a Fender Rumble 40 or 100, not that I love the sound of them, but they are loud and light enough for my purposes, then my attention turned to the Acoustic 50 and 100. It checks a lot of boxes and wedge design really outweighed the weight difference with the Rumble for me. DI Works really well, no noise issues.
I will say I first set it up in my little music room at home and it sounded really good there. I took it to rehearsal last night and it sounded more like what I here from some modelers for Acoustic amps, totally expected...to me sort of flat sounding. So I fired up the BDDI and it sounds more like what I want coming out of it. It's not bad on it's own, but it does help to add some flavor Volume was only at 9:00 or 1/4 the way up, and it also helps that I was also getting some DI to subs.
I have one waiting for me at GC I bought for $179 that has to clear it's hold status like all used gear there - taking it home on 6/18. Looks newish and plays fine - looking forward to using all it's features. Bought a $28 2-yr purchase price replacement warranty too for about $228 OTD.
