I bought a Mighty Mite neck about 5 years ago, and I have managed to strip out the adjustment for the truss rod.

I am facing 3 problems:

1) Trying to remove the nut (not so hard; it will take time and cleverness but I can probably do it)

2) Ordering the correct size for the threads (complicated by the fact that I am disabled and getting around is a really big ordeal; otherwise once the nut is removed, I could just head over to Lowe's and test it against their tester bolts)

3) Getting info from Mighty Mite may be tough; I have sent them an email, but there's a splash page that says they have been taken over by another company and are going to relaunch their site, which could mean that my message will fall through the cracks.

So my question is this: Has anyone replaced their truss rod adjustment nut on their Mighty Mite neck, and were you able to find what you wanted online?

What web site are you looking at? I'm looking at mightymite.com, not seeing any "under new management" message, but maybe I'm just missing it? On the contact us page, they have a phone number--could try calling.

Step 1 is probably gotta happen anyway, so might want to start on that. I'm sure the nut is metric, so once it's out just measure the thread diameter to the nearest millimeter, should have the correct size. If I had to guess cold, I'd say M5 or M6. I did not see metric replacement truss rod nuts on either StewMac or Mcmaster-Carr. May need to get assistance from an actual luthier.

If you click on "SIGN UP!", you can see what I saw as a splash page last night.
