Double Bass MK EUB - Price?

The actual Offensive some days ago… Prices are in €, but perhaps they‘ll give some guidance…

Thanks that is helpful. They list the basic Studio model (not the Up) at EUR1600 which in Canadian dollars puts it approximately into the same price range as the NS Design NXT model.

What I'm pondering here, aside from tonality, is a technique issue. The MK models have a traditional neck heel which would make left hand technique (for a right handed person) about the same as for a conventional AUB. The NS Design do not have a neck heel so one would use a sort of hybrid technique on the upper registers.

There is another technical difference which IMHO is pretty big: the NS is made to be played on a tripod since it doesn't have anything to lean on, while the MK and the YAMAHA and the Palatino are designed to be played as an actual acoustic bass.

Coming from playing acoustic since just two years the NS to me feels more like a big fretless bass and I'm not talking about tone.

That is a big issue, although the NS do offer an end pin option with waist brace. However, it does not have the frame/wings of an MK or Yamaha and I expect that will create a body positioning issue.

In reality, IMO the NS Design instruments must be considered to be separate and distinct from AUB. Similar but different.

In my experience the man is pretty fast and precise in replying. He sent me a detailed list of options and pricings when I've asked.

You just might need to wait for the day to start. In Italy it's just 7:45 a.m. at the moment. :)
Mirko has now replied (very quick) with a full run down of prices and options.

If anyone is interested I can post it here as a pdf.
