Not much info on his passing, but here’s the rundown on his life…

I much preferred the Grape and earlier Quicksilver over the other SF bands of that era, and I got to see Miller in a trio with the Doobies’ Tiran Porter, then a reconvened Grape, also with Tiran, but featuring one-time bassist Bob Mosely on stage as well, physically but not necessarily mentally. He did make it through the song “Murder In My Heart For The Judge”. Skip, of course, was long gone.

I’m sure you’ve heard “Omaha”; here are some other notable tracks…

Wow, one of the most underrated guitarists out there, his chops and sweet tone from his Gibson L5 and Twin Reverb is one of my favorite guitar sounds going back to the summer of ‘67 when I bought their first album, bad management by a rip off manager basically killed the band but what a player Jerry was. RIP

Skip wandered into our rehearsal space one afternoon very early 70s and jammed. He played our guitarist's cherry red 335 & tweed bassman rig, essentially the same set up he used with the grape. he could still play, definitely. music wasn't a problem for skip, it was the other stuff in life.
