Modifying Fender Jazz Elite with series/parallel

I'm looking at getting a Fender Jazz Elite. I like that it has an active/passive switch. I would like to add series/parallel functionality. How difficult would it be to switch out the stock blend pot with a push/pull pot that would blend and also serve as a series/parallel switch?

probably impossible for two reasons:

the electronics on those are a monolithic PCB that pretty much covers the entire controls plate

a blend pot is already a dual-gang pot, which leaves no room for a push/pull switch

oh, 3rd reason:
you can't have a blend AND a series/parallel switch

I had a feeling it wouldn't be possible to modify their pre-amp.

Why is that? I figured that if it were in series, you couldn't blend between the two pick ups, so both would be on. Or is it impossible to have blend and a series/parallel switch on the same circuit?

You'd have to bypass the blend in series & it would require a 3-pole switch, while a push/pull is typically only two poles.
