Okay, so my search for a great envelope filter continues. I have tried MXR, Carl Martin, EBS, Source Audio and a few more. I purchased the Fwonk on a impulse from a review done on pedals and effects.com. It's a great pedal. It will blow your speakers if your not careful. It gets as low as you can get. Fwonk needs high input to open the filter. My friend tried it with his vintage strat and it didn't even move it. But as of late I have been thinking about the Aguilar filter twin again. When I rented it from pedal Genie I was impressed. It had so much character, a lot to work with. I was still in my early phase of filter exploration so I didn't give it another thought. After playing with my Fwonk for a few months I figured I'd give the Twin another try, so I bought it on reverb.
Mr. Blacks Fwonk BETA is crazy strong but hard to control IMO.
If any of you gear heads can comment on either pedal in question please do. I would like to hear your thoughts on them! Thanks!

I've not tried the Twin, but understand that it's a very useable filter, easy to set and sounds good in a live mix. Wasn't the sound I was looking for personally (based on clips of course) but would still like to try one.

I love my Fwonk, best tone and envelope action I've ever got from a filter, and I've tried most out there... But only just discovered that it is not sensitive enough to play nice with a stock passive CV Jazz unless I dig in really hard all the time! I'd been using it previously with a BB1025X, Thunderbird, and Sandberg Basic, which all have a lot more output. It also distorts if I push the EQ too much on the Basic, which I guess is down to the fact it's a digital pedal without an input gain control.

I have a Fwonk waiting for me in NYC but I haven't played with it yet. I got a Filter Twin in a trade and didn't think about it until I plugged it in today. I was, super impressed - very vocal, lovely quack, easy to dial in, seems like it would cut through a mix well. I look forward to putting it on a gig board.

Let me know your thoughts on the Fwonk. I havnt given up on it yet. I'm just trying to find the sound!

I have a Fwonk And playn An Ibanez BTB 405QM throught either My Fairfield Barbershop or my Blueberry with low gain and a bit of volume boost. The BTB is a very low output And with a little boost the filter opens easily and it sounds amazing. I also have an Ibanez RoadstarII P-Bass and it is much hotter output and will drive the fwonk easily also. The Funkiest Filter I have played through yet and there were many of them.

I bought the Fwonk BETA on Mr. Black's recommendation. Yes, this will blow your speakers if you are not careful. Still trying to rein the bass in on this thing. I'm using it with a active Dingwall.
