Musicman HD130 on Fender Neo 610

I very recently bought this Musicman HD130 to have as a backup/rehearsal-space amp. My main girl is a Fender Bassman 100t, which I use for studio and stage and it sounds badass, constant compliments from everyone nearly every show. I dial a little gain and boost mids, with a P-Bass (playing with a pick), it's killer.

However, I'm very surprised and almost feel bad to find out, but this Musicman HD130 is in a way a more monster-kickass sound. It's much cheaper and much older than my Bassman 100t, which I thought was unmatched to anything I've ever used. I'm very, very impressed guys!

Anyone else can speak up for combining Musicman stuff with Fender stuff in some way and be very impressed?

Not too keen on fender cabs, but I can attest that the HD 130 is a beast of an amp.

Can you get grit outta the MM? I always assumed with the solidstate pre, that they built to be clean machines all the way up (tube power section notwithstanding).

This one is from 1977, while it is a soildstate pre, this one also has a "phase inverter" tube in the pre with a 12AX7.
It's a big and punchy, middy clean sound, but if you really drive it hard it can be slightly gritty. One of the most monsterus clean tube amps I've ever used. Through this Fender 610 Cab it cuts through in my (sometimes loud) rock band very well, I know a lot of guys like putting this head on 12 and 15 inch speakers but I love the 10s.
