MXR M80 just died... anyone else using the TC Spectra Drive yet?

I was planning on trying one out once released, but it looks like I'm under the gun to replace my dead M80.

I've seen one or two posts but not much else. Anyone else get one lately they could chime in about? I love the Tubedrive in my RH 450 and BG 250. I just want a reasonable amount of tone control and a little tube grit OD. The MRX distortion wasn't what I was looking for. I couln't get the grit or edge I was looking for..

Thanks... I'll be picking one up next week and will report back regardless. Option options are the GK Plex and possibly the Trace Elliot or Tech 21 Bass Fly rig.

I see what you mean, dude. my digitech bass driver that I've owned for 8 years was showing signs of malfunctioning. which is why I purchase a new distortion pedal. it's a shame too because this is one of the rarest pedals I've own along with the digitech hardwire stereo chorus. even though my bass driver has been in and out of retirement, I did keep the pedal for sentimental reasons.

As for preamps, if your mxr m80 is going kaput, it would be best to purchase a new preamp pedal. if money is no option, check out the darkglass preamp pedals. the ultra series are killer bass preamp pedals for the price. but if t.c electronics is more of your thing, then the new spectra drive is a pretty good choice. the eqing seems flexible and drive is decent. I personally like their modulation pedals. one of the best modulation pedals I've ever used.
