My bass has insane buzz below the 7th fret.

my girlfriend gave me one of the "store brand" gear4music basses for christmas this year and ive had trouble setting it up. i saw a thread from ages ago telling me to loosen the truss rod as the buzz was only from fret 1-3. did that, 2 strings fixed. the other 2 i tried adjusting the action of, it wasnt too shabby for a cheap bass. but i tuned it and now frets 1-6 have horrible buzz, is there an easy fix to this?
