"They're HOT" - true.
"They are only slightly louder than normal pickups" - could be the choked EB-2 or EB-3 circuit that rolls off bass, or the Epiphone Low-Z-bucker.
"They've got no treble" - true to some extent. The Low-Z-bucker is brighter. There's also the 0.01 uF cap in the EB-0 and EB-1 that removes high end even when the tone pot is wide open.
"They've got no midrange" - could be the notched EB-2 or EB-3 circuit which cuts midrange.
"They're middy" - could be the choked EB-2 or EB-3.
"They overpower the bridge pickup" - could be Series 2 wiring, which is similar to a Jazz Bass or, more accurately, a Les Paul guitar.
"They are drowned by the bridge pickup" - could be Series 1 wiring, where the Mudbucker signal goes through the "choke" circuit before summing in parallel with the bridge.
"They need to be out of phase with the bridge pickup" - I've never found that.
"The EB-3 is more versatile than the EB-0 due to the bridge pickup" - it's also the choke and notch circuits, making the most of the Mudbucker itself.
