My Jazz Bass Build Adventure

So earlier this year I decided I needed something to take up some more of my non existent off time and music money lol. I've wanted another jazz for awhile but not much available excited me and I didn't want to hack apart a new $1500+ Deluxe to be the color I wanted. So I've always watched and had my eyes on the MJT listings on eBay for new nitro/relic finished bodies and one day came across this sonic blue jazz that was just what I was looking for, looked super clean and a perfect start to the look of a well cared for classic :roflmao: wrong. The eBay pictures for all of the MJT stuff is under pretty bright lighting hiding all the checking and cracking that the bodies have on them pretty well, so I had to change my thinking up a bit, which I didn't mind. So I gradually began to pick up piece after piece and make some decisions on electronics and bridge and all that fun stuff. I did not however want to spend the premium on all the well reliced parts like $100 for a beat to hell pickguard and I knew I couldn't get the pickups I wanted in creme. So I had to research and learn and test some of the things I found across the interwebs. So here is the before and after and a couple in betweens of my build. I just finished shielding, wiring, and screwing everything down on the body so all I have left is installing the neck, stringing, and setting it up which should all be done about the time my Darkglass head gets here :D.

The Tort guard sets it off as well. excellent choice. Curious to hear what you think of the pickups.

Yes I thought so too, the first guard I got was a used but in good condition brown tort guard so said the seller, however when I got it, it had the pickup hole all hacked up and was completely broken on parts. So I ended up with red tort like I wanted from the beginning when one showed up as a take off a week later for $15, not too bad!
