I have always wanted an Ampeg B100R. I don’t need it, and I really wouldn’t want to have to move it every time I have a gig but the appeal of that blue tolex and the classic Ampeg sound has always had a pull on me. The issue has always been that I cannot find one in good shape, or when I do they are too far away and the seller will not ship.
This time I got lucky. The seller’s dad bought this new in 2000 and gave it to him 2 years later. Since he was a guitar player and not a bass player it has really lived most of its life in a closet or a music room. The tolex is pristine, the control panel still has the protective plastic on it, and the protective speaker screen has no stains or rips. The original owner’s manual and Ampeg sticker were also included.
It looks great in my music room and sounds amazing. It’s definitely a keeper. I’m a happy man!
