I understand you have to be in the music business somehow, catch 22! I'd like to become a responsible sales and possibly a service/repair entity but also would like to see what vendors are offering. Hmmmm, what to do?
If you want to see what vendors are offering, then contact the vendors.
If you want to become responsible for sales, service, repair, etc., then either find a job that offers those positions or open your own shop and offer those services.
Either way, asking and reading answers on here is only going delay the inevitable - having to do the work to accomplish your goal.

You can start a legit business, join NAMM and pay to go as a non-exhibiting member, or try for press or educator credentials, assuming you can't just wrangle a guest/friend pass from an exhibitor. Another possible tack is to go as a performing guest artist, assuming you have an endorsement deal in place. There were over 100,00 attendees last year, FWIW.

Find a company that's going, make friends with them, and then volunteer your time to help. I know people who've gotten in like that.
I got into NAMM 4 times through endorsements. You can perform there if you: 1. Have a deal with a company that has performer spots (a good friend will work with that, too). 2. Submit your package early enough and get chosen by them, and whoever does the choosing at NAMM.
