I had a Dynacord (1970s German hybrid amp and matching cabinet) setup at the practice space for a couple of years. Nothing wrong with it, but one time I tried an Ampeg V4 guitar amp instead. To make a long post short, the fuse blew on the amp, and I had already transported the Dynacord setup back home.

I had brought in a Laney Neodymium 15" cabinet to the practice space already, and at home I have a 2x10" blown Laney B2000 amp cabinet with three rack spaces to fill due to the blown amp.

I already had a Korg rack tuner that I had bolted on the vacant amp space. Previously, I had used an Aguilar TH500 in the remaining space but the attachment wasn't very good and I had given up on that setup.

So, I ordered a Tech21 RBI pre and an ART SLA 2 power amp to fill the space, and the result is here.

I tried it briefly, and it is promising. I need to switch off the tweeter, I think, as there is a high-pitched noise when I engage the "drive" control.

This setup gives me 2x200 W and I think it will suffice for most situations!

I did some further testing today, attached a power strip to the back and sorted out the cable runs.

I also identified the source of the noise - it's my Precision. Seems like a grounding issue, luckily, I just got a roll of shielding tape and I need to take a look at the electronics anyway.

I played this setup (with the 1x15" Laney Neo cab added) at band practice yesterday and the guys liked the tone with the RBI overtones. I tried to crank it up but the whole place started vibrating... and we started practicing with an electronic drum kit for an upcoming low SPL gig.

So I turned it low, but I know it has the capability to deliver!
