NBD - Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass MIM

Hi all! Really happy with this new to me baby on my arsenal. I've been playing 6 stringers almost exclusively lately, but due to some health condition I needed to get back to a 4 stringer or short scale. I needed a trusty and versatile instrument to help me cover different music genres, so I thought a JB or PJ would do the job great.

I own a Fender Pawn Shop Mustang, beautiful instrument but not very versatile; and a modded Squier Bronco that does the job, but lacks a bit of character. Is in that search and trying to do some trades as I'm without a formal job at this time; that this beauty come along my way.

Got it for a great price, so I could't resist. Is a 2010 Mexican JB, alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Has noiseless pickups and the previous owner did a complete cavity shielding and installed a Hipshot Kickass bridge. Bass feels great and looks great. Have some mojo here and there, but I really like how it sounds and feels. It was a bit estrange because I owned a American Deluxe Active V some time ago and didn't liked the sound as much as I'm loving this one.

Did some setup to get it to my playing and not even changed the strings ase they are almost new D'Addario EXL170 45-100, the ones that I use on my other instruments with rounds.

Happy now with this puppy, and now that I'm offloading my arsenal from the 6 stringers, this will be #1 and get all the attention.

Here the pics!

Nice! I have the same bass, purchased new in '08. My only mods were a Hipshot Xtender, a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard, and faux block markers.

Looks like two knobs on yours were switched from their original positions, but it wouldn't effect functionality. The smallest knob would've been on the mid boost/cut pot – the one on the end furthest from the pickguard.

You’re right about the knobs, didn’t noticed that.

Which extender did you installed?
