sold off my ibby fanned fret and wanted something I didn't have. so, I landed on a 6-string. This will be my 2nd attempt at a 6'er. The first failed, but I was a teen, and not very good. Now I'm an adult and not very good, so hopefully this round goes better. ;)

First bass purchased off the TB classifieds, and it was a smooth transaction. After setting to my specs, the bass is playing well. Will take some adjusting to the wide neck.

And as is tradition, my wife's comment. "that looks like something a viking rock star would play". it just so happens I am neither....enjoy!

Awesome! I have a Bongo HS 6 and I brought it to practice last weekend. It sounded really good in the mix.

I am eager to try it out soon. boosting the mid bands and leaving the bass flat with a mild treble cut has created a very pleasing tone.

As a John Myung fan, I tip my hat to you, congrats!

if i said his videos playing one didn't sway me, i'd be lyin!

My best bunch includes a 6 now!

I just started working on the Hal Leonard 6-string Bassics book. I need the basic theory background and the scale/arpeggio work is really helping my technique with string muting and muscle memory. If anyone has an tips to pour in, I will welcome them.

Such a quality instrument, and holding it, I understand it's design is certainly function over form. very comfortable, albeit weighty.

i finally got to play the bongo today in a full band setting. i installed new SIT power wounds, as I believe the strings that came on it were the factory originals from 2016. I rarely get compliments or comments on my bass tone, but I received several today. This bass is great. It has tonal character similar to my 5 string DP custom, which is high praise coming from me. I like when a bass sounds great in the practice room and in a full band setting with little-to-no tweaks. this bass is like that. feels great, plays great, and the neck is easy to navigate for a 6er. very happy i went with the bongo!
