Christmas, in March! NS Design Wav Radius 4, high gloss Metallic White.

Saw this advertised within the infectious and oft addictive hallowed halls of TB's Classified sub-forum. Did a 'little' research, played a little tennis, and with a modicum of magic present, it arrived safely, earlier this week.

As most of you know, I'm all about the box.

Item was shipped FedEx Ground in original exterior box and internal instrument box, with plenty of air cushions for protection. The quarter size puncture you see midway up, center right did leave the same depression on the interior box, but did not penetrate... so, the box did it's job, at one time or another.

Upon receipt, I found the neck to have just a slight bit of relief, but is very playable, as well as comfortable. When time is available, I'll perform a setup on it, but for the time being...

... it's better than good.

The bass shipped with an NS gig bag, manual, tools, and a sweet leather B/W Yin Yang strap.

For the gear geeks (myself being one, or I wouldn't have downloaded the info):

I’m very happy for you on this fine purchase. What I really like about it is the various string options you can experiment with. Currently strung my WAV with GHS Pressurewounds and it really produces that rich low end from
The piezo. Welcome to the WAV family!

Thanks, @AstralBirth! Funny you should mention strings... I'm not feeling what I think are the D'addario EXL 170's... they seem to be 'fighting' me, for lack of a better explanation. With the bass being a '16 (and originally purchased in November) who knows how that length of time unused, would affect them.

They sound good... just seem... too taut, maybe. Maybe a setup might help, but adjustment wise, it's close to how I like it now.

If I do change strings, the Pressurewounds will be given top consideration... I have them on my Highway One Jazz, and I really like them!

Let me know if you’re interested in the Pressurewounds, I have a spare set 44-102 gauge if you need :)

I use light GAuge for example 90-35 this lock tuners accept these?

From the NS site...

"D'Addario™ EXL 170 Nickel Round Wound Bass Guitar strings are standard. Compatible with any standard single-ball end, full-scale bass guitar strings."

No mention of gauge, though. I haven't inspected the locking system yet, but I'm guessing it will handle the lighter gauge strings, too. A great place to check is the Headless Club.

Hey Spidey. Do you still play that Radius? I like how the back of mine hugs my Deadguy beer belly nicely! Also plays and sounds great IMHO. Hope you and yours are doing well.

My brother, from another Sally Struther...

... heck, yes I still play it! More for songs not requiring the lower register, though... it's a 34" scale, but it sure doesn't feel like it. The XL-2 I used to have was the same way, for me anyways.

Last time I played it, I heard more string buzz on the E and A, than I did previously, so a slight height increase of the bridge is in order.

Family is fine, breaux! Thanks for asking! Hope you and yours are well, too! Be safe!

Good to hear all that. And it would appear you are going to have at least a little unexpected time on your hands to make such adjustments, eh? ( and NOT the way we would have wanted it! )

Dead Guy... because of you enablers one of my all-time favorites.

With my washboard abs, I can actually achieve a percussive beat, as I rub the Wav up and down my torso...

... visual proof not included.

Yep... there's a silver lining to everything. Sometimes, you just have to look a little harder... and in times like this, I probably shouldn't be complaining about anything.

RIP for those who didn't make it, and God speed for those affected by it.
