NBD: Reverend Mercalli, "Violin Brown"

I became interested in Reverend after seeing Randy McDonald, Tommy Castro's bassist, playing one, several years ago. Well, I got this one from a guy on CL that knew virtually nothing about basses. He said he was really a drummer but this bass had popped up in some music trade he'd done, thinking he needed a bass for some home studio work, but soon realized he didn't really know how to play it. I got it for $300. It needed a bit of trussing, cleaning, intonation, etc., and now it plays incredibly well and the sound it makes with D'Addario NYXL .045-.095 strings is... WOW! 8.6 lb, awesome balance. Zero defects, no scratches, cuts, breaks, bruising, anything...looks like it just popped off the assembly line.

Been looking for a 4 for a while- especially a violin brown/rosewood model! Congrats . Be sure to post your thoughts up in the reverend club thread!
