So I had gassed for a Walnut Ric forever, bought one a few months ago on here and just flat out did not like it, it just didn't have "it" , I was searching around looking for vintage 4001's online and came across this one, I was so struck by it's beauty I had to have it, I am happy to report whatever 'it' is, this one has it! Plays and sounds great, 8.5lbs, fast neck and that Walnut!

I've owned 2 Rics over the years and sold them both. Ultimately, they just didn't work for me. Then you show us your new 4003W. That has to be one of the most beautiful basses out there. I might just have to get my third Ric.

I've had about 6 over the years, a few amazing, a few so-so and a few meh, I can't really say what made them that way, I have noticed there is a pretty big variance with neck width/thickness and with weight (they can vary +/- 1lb on two exact basses from the same year) so it's really a crap shoot, maybe the third times a charm

Not only is the walnut just stunning, I'm a sucker maple fretboards with white pearloid inlays.

I've seen pictures of some very nice walnut Rics but this one is so sexy I can't even think of anything (anyone) appropriate to compare it to!

Wow! Some of the figuring on your bass reminds me of how coffee looks when you start pouring cream into it. Stunning bass, congrats!

Beautiful bass. Please don't leave the stickers on the pickguard. You can put them in the case if you don't want to throw them out.

Having owned several Rics and not loving ANY of them, I am willing to try a few of these to see if I CAN love one...if it's possible, these models are IT. Beautiful bass and enjoy it in good health~peace~

I've only had 1 - a jetglo 4003 I still have. Love the jetglo but wow... that walnut is just stunningly sexy! Pics are giving me GAS I don't need at this time.

Wow that's some killer grain, like boiling chocolate! Careful, the Sexy might rub off on you, no telling where that could lead. Maybe tone it down with some plaid slacks?
