OK folks here it is, this may be the lightest long scale five string bass you’ve ever seen! It’s certainly the lightest I’ve ever seen or played. Just got this in a few days ago, loving the sound.

Ash body, maple neck, Sadowsky soapbar pickups in modern locations, 7.3lbs!!
Matte black finish. It’s an axe cutter I tell ya! Stealth Darth Bass! Also comes with the Will Lee mid boost switch.

Contrary to what some may think, this basic exceptionally balanced. The lower horn is truncated so that is a little tough when sitting because the balance point is further towards the bridge, but you could always sit with it Classical Guitar style. Standing with a good strap, this thing is really nice and I have not noticed any neck dive. I’m curious if the new shape affords a lighter weight. The body is also chambered. The invisible thread technology is also really nice. The fret tangs are not even there!

SCs aren't my thing, but those Moderns growl like a Ken Smith on steroids (if that's possible), and I prefer the 24 frets, too. Adding in that mid switch is icing on the cake, imo.

Took me a day or two to get used to the shape! Loving it now!

Nathan Peck on Instagram: "Special thanks and shout outs to @sadowskybasses @warwickbassesofficial for sending me this amazing new Sadowsky Metroline Single Cut 5 string bass! This super stealth SC5 has 24 frets and features a chambered swamp ash body, maple neck, invisible fret ends, adjustable nut, passive/active Sadowsky preamp with vintage tone control, soap bar pickups, a mid boost switch (borrowed from the Will Lee bass) and weighs in at an incredibly low 7.3 lbs, a full pound lighter than what’s considered a light bass guitar and is modeled after the Sadowsky NYC, single cut 5-24. Check out the clarity on that low B string! I had so much fun playing against myself on low bass and also had a blast playing playing drums! #nbd #newbassday #worththewait #sadowskysinglecut #sadowskybass #sadowsky #modernbass #soapbarpickups #matteblack #5stringbass #logicpro #homestudio #uad #uaudio #uadapollo #warmaudio #slingerland #bosphoruscymbals #bassesofinstagram #amazingbasses #bassplayersmagazine #bassguitar #notreble #bassmusicianmag #bassmusician #closetdrummer #bassharmonics"

I don't know if it's the color combo.
I am generally kinda meh on the single cut thing but this I dig.

With the single cut on the top and the Jazz bass offset Jazz bulge on the bottom, it's kinda Ritter like...

That is a beautiful bass! I feel the way you presented the bass it is a bit like finding the Holy Grail of 5-strings. :D

I love the sound of Sadowsky’s Modern series. Enjoy!

Oops!! Maybe it isn’t but I’ve never had anything under 8lbs so I’m just pumped about that!

I just pulled the trigger on one of these. Totally stoked to get it. The one I'm getting is slightly heavier but still below 8lbs. Its lighter than my Spector NS Pulse 5 string and that bass is really light and comfortable at 8 lbs 4 oz. How are you liking the pre and PUs? Do you use the mid boost? How have you got the switches and trims on the back setup?
