Got this baby last weekend. Man, I can't stop playing! This has some serious mojo going on. Probably going to take the ashtray off as I like to play close to bridge as well...

Is it red? Or is it like a wine color?
It is supposed to be candy apple red. The lighting is really bad in that room.

Oh, that's definitely Candy Apple Red. The dark red hue Fender-Japan used for their CAR instruments is really close to the MIM Standard's Midnight Wine. I had a Non-Export Aerodyne in the same color, just with a bit less "sparkle" to it. And yeah, that color is so damn luscious! drool

It really is a nice color on a bass.

And man, that Aerodyne P/J is gorgeous. Didn't even know they made them in a P/J config.

Most Aerodynes are P/J's. There were, emphasis on "were", a few J/J models. Unfortunately, now that the FMIC/Kanda-Shokai joint-venture has been dissolved :banghead: :sour:, only the Export Editions and Standard AJB Non-Exports are being produced. At least they're still manufacturing the one I pictured above and a handful of other colors (Black, Dolphin Grey, US Gunmetal Blue and White).

Side-Note: Here's the link to Fender's Non-Export Aerodyne models.

You're right lol. I don't think I've seen a J/J Aerodyne before, actually. I always see P/J's, but it's the COLOR I haven't seen before. I always only see them black. That deep wine/red looks lovely on the Aerodyne.

Yeah, "lovely" is a great description. 'Tis a shame I had to let it go, but it was a necessity at the time. :( On the upside, at least my first-ever Aerodyne, an Export Edition, plays better than that "Cherry Bomb".
