This is the 2nd of my 2 custom orders and very happy with this one!
So what the heck is it?
a Maruszczyk Paddock 5 [Mah-roos-check]
Configuration details
I was able to get some top and neck wood samples to select from and since these options weren't in the configurator, I did my own mockup with these actual images to get an idea of what the bass was going to look like (the final is pretty close).
And here are the results!!
The back of the neck looks a bit like a blue tiger tail
They also provided this nice fitted cap for the headpiece that covers the string ends and makes for a nice finished appearance.
Here it is hanging on the wall with it's kid-brother from my other NBD post
It has some amazing craftsmanship and a very broad tonal palette that I'm just starting to fully explore as I've only booked about 2hrs of playing time in my home studio today. So far I'm very impressed with the tone and amazing playability of this thin and fast neck - it's definitely a keeper!!
I worked with a dealer (Randy at Bass Spotlight) vs. going direct which really helped to manage and coordinate all of the details.
